(((WeCameToDance))) is, put simply, a blast!
After sold-out workshops with rave reviews in New York City, WeCameToDance by Food Tank, in partnership with House of Jack, The International Fund for Agricultural Development (IFAD) and the World Food Program USA, debuts at the 2021 Edinburgh Festival Fringe.
During the joyful and immersive performance you'll dance with aliens from a real exoplanet (they call it “Hanyana”) that we have re-imagined in partnership with Dr. Steve B. Howell at NASA Ames Research Center. The performers sing in both English and their own language, Hayanese, created by famed linguist David Peterson, who developed Valyrian and Dothraki for HBO’s “Game of Thrones.” You'll groove to music created by Grammy-nominated Ghanaian afrobeats artist Rocky Dawuni and, led by the cast, you'll participate in synchronised dance originally designed in New York by Broadway's Mary Page Nance, and choreographed for the local production in Scotland by the award-winning Ashley Jack of House of Jack dance studio in Leith, Edinburgh.
